During the month of September, 2010, I traveled with Lahash International, a not-for-profit aid organization, to document the lives of their East African partners in Tanzania and Uganda through photography and video. This was my first trip back to the continent since since 2006 when I traveled with Lahash to photograph the vulnerable of Uganda and Southern Sudan.
I've loved working with Lahash as a volunteer with their media department in Graphic Design and Photography. At the same time, traveling to Africa is expensive and takes a good bit of capital. Instead of the usual fundraising methods of just asking for money, I'm initiating a Photo Print Exchange. Think of it as a PBS fundraising drive, in exchange for each $25 you give, I will send you an unmatted 8x10 photograph. It's a cheap way to support the documentary art, help me tell the story of the plight of East Africans, and for you to get art in return! Click here for a video I shot of the first part of my trip to Tanzania.
With the following links to image collections, you'll find photographs that I'll be offering up for purchase.
