This all started when my name showed up in a Vimeo search. Fort Ripper, a small production company fresh from Brooklyn, wanted to make their mark in Portland. Over a few beers, they convinced me to direct photography for an advertisement that would sell miniature sticks of wood with matches for $12.95.
The Director and I meticulously planned every shot, after which we spent three days on location with a small crew. The whole thing was the most fun I had in a long time. In front of the campfire, Fort Ripper and I became best friends. As for the video? A quarter-million views and counting (which isn’t bad for a box of sticks).
