Creative Toolkit

(a project in development)

How can teams explore better solutions, while addressing key issues in design?

This was my intention in gathering ideas and resources for a creative toolkit. We all need a little inspiration and structure to stay sharp and focus on building the best solutions for clients. Despite great tools for online communication, the pandemic saw teams more isolated, and in the need for better resources to do insightful design thinking.

I came up with this card set concept when I saw my own design team struggling to stay motivated. It seems like every company tried new ways to make Zoom more interesting — but pretty quickly we all grew tired of awkwardly trying to find questions to ask.

Original sketchbook idea

As for the prompts in this digital card deck, I came up with a lot of them, but I didn’t come up with all of them. Rather it’s a collection of ideas I’ve discovered over the years to receive inspiration and motivation. I know card decks were all the rage some years ago, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t stopped being useful.

This project is still ongoing, but until it’s complete, drop me a line to tell me how it could be better!

v.2 Prototype

I built a first prototype, which was straightforward with relatively traditional interaction patterns. But after being inspired myself by a friend’s article on Object-Oriented UX, I wanted to try navigating through the “card” ideas in a more unique and gesture-based way, but also still intuitive. Below is a video of the Figma prototype:
